Vinyl Fans: Waxwork Records Opens DAY OF THE DEAD LP For Pre-Sale Today
As Chris so eloquently pointed out in his Death Waltz / Waxwork piece from a few weeks ago, we’ve been ensconced in a slew of great horror releases this past year.
Today’s big release comes from our friends over at Waxwork, as (somepoint today) they’ll be accepting pre-sale on John Harrison’s score to the 1985 zombie horror classic George A. Romero’s Day Of The Dead. This is a beauty of a release, but the real reason fans should keep an eye out today is to grab a copy of the Zombie Flesh and Blood Edition, limited to a scant 300 copies. From Waxwork:
Day Of The Dead will be a 180 gram 2xLP limited release on Cream Yellow Marble vinyl (Sides A & B) and Military Green Marble vinyl (Sides C & D). All housed in a heavyweight old-school tip-on matte varnish gatefold jacket with spot UV gloss finish.
The presentation comes with all the bells and whitstles: front and back cover, inner gatefold art, inserts, center labels and gorgeous artwork by Jay Shaw pictured above. Packed inside are essay-length notes from the master himself George A. Romero, as well as an an 11×22 replica of “THE DEAD WALK!” newspaper page seen in the film.
I couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of snagging a limited edition copy. You can check out the known info here. Price hasn’t been listed yet (hopefully they do us a solid and release under $50) but you can be sure I’ll update when the pre-sale goes live!
